Prof. Xiong was invited to make a keynote at World Summit on the Information Society

       The World World Summit on the Information Society was held in Geneva from March 19 to March 23, 2018. More than 2,500 delegates from 150 countries participated in the summit, including government ministers and experts, leading figures of civil society, academics, business circles and international organizations.

       During the meeting, Prof. Xiong and the ITU Expert Group made bilateral academic communication and delivered speeches at the Internet Oral History Forum, expounding the tremendous impact of Internet development on world economic, social and cultural development, and the theoretical and practical significance of oral history research.

       This forum brought elites from all walks of life together to discuss how countries can use information and communication technologies to prioritize sustainable development goals in areas such as health, education, employment, environment, infrastructure and innovation. The forum has conducted extensive discussions on information issues that have emerged in social development and has raised information and communication technologies to an unprecedented level year by year.
